This class will teach basic pickling techniques as well as discuss what equipment and ingredients will be needed for a successful product. It is a hands-on class and we will be using the boiling water bath technique for our recipes. Approval from instructor or Canning 101 is a prerequisite for this class. We will be discussing fermentation and brine, sweet and dill recipes, and making pickles from seasonal vegetables and/or fruit. We will also sample various other homemade pickled products and recipes for these will be available as well . All supply costs are included in the class fee and participants will go home with two different jars of pickles made in class.
